Goldman Sachs Transaction Banking
Project: Build a global transaction banking platform – from the ground up – for one of the most respected names in the financial world – that measures up to the hightest design standards, adheres to strict financial regulations, and meets client and stakeholder needs.
Role: I led this project on a day-to-day basis as ACD from March 2020 through September 2021, managing a group of 9 creatives based in NYC, Austin, and Sao Paolo – including XD, Visual, Copy, and Strategy.
Over the next few slides you’ll see just some of the highlights from a mountain of work that was produced over the course of more than a year.
Recognition: Fast Company’s 2022 Best Designed Finance Company and Best Enterprise Design awards

Information Architecture
The platform consists of 2 sides:
1. Client User Interface – public
2. Client Service Portal – internal
The CUI side had to meet external client requirements – ease of use for users interacting with multiple complex financial systems throughout their day.
The CSP side had to meet service representatives’ needs – fast access to a wide variety of information, easily discernable between different client organizations.
Strat workshops, card sorting, sitemaps. We organized and then reorganized, and then organized again.
Pattern Libraries
Along with the extensive Design System created to centralize the visual language across a large team of design participants, we also realized the need to establish consistent patterns for longer flows tied to various common activities. These included:
Onboarding
Payments
Notifications and Task Approvals
Reporting
and more…
Defining these patterns helped streamline the design process while also maintaining consistent flows for our users.
Prototypes
In order to conduct user testing, as well as showcase its features to potential clients, we had to create high-fidelity prototypes that would accurately reflect the complex processes required for banking transactions.
To achieve this we extensively utilized Figma’s prototyping and component capabilities.
