Visualizing next-gen connectivity for millions of users

The Challenge

Redesign Verizon’s coverage map experience to clearly communicate the reach of their 5G network—while demystifying what 5G actually means for everyday users. The experience needed to serve a wide audience: from tech-savvy consumers comparing plans to business users making infrastructure decisions.

My Role

As Associate Creative Director, I led strategy, UX, and visual direction for a compact team of four creatives. My role included aligning the cross-functional vision, shaping the narrative around 5G, and guiding the team through iterative design and stakeholder reviews.

The Approach

We collaborated closely with stakeholders from both the consumer and enterprise sides of the business to ensure the experience would scale and resonate. Key goals included:

  • Simplifying complex network data
  • Providing easy-to-understand comparisons of 4G vs. 5G
  • Ensuring accessibility across devices and geographies
  • Reinforcing Verizon’s position as a 5G leader

We introduced clearer map overlays, interactive toggles, and digestible educational content—all designed to foster confidence and clarity.

The Outcome

The redesigned map experience successfully launched and continues to support both business and consumer users in understanding and accessing Verizon’s 5G network. It also served as a benchmark for future map-based initiatives within the organization.
